This project was designed to work on three fronts:

1. The development of the Palestinian Constitution

2. The inclusion of Palestinian women in the political process

3. The development of empowered grassroots democratic advocacy bodies

By selecting these subjects, we have focused on three of the most important areas that need to have focus before the establishment of the Palestinian state. Palestinians want to be a part of the process of creating their own Constitution, hence, the project focus on that issue. Women are getting more active all the time in all aspects of civil society and now it is time to include them more politically as well.

It is also necessary to build local capacity and to give them experience in grassroots democratic development for the benefit of the next group of leaders at the local level, who will be democratically elected. It is essential to have proving grounds to allow people to learn cooperation, service and looking for the higher public good.
